The Show Must Go On
I managed to get my black tux ready, fit me well since I am still in mourning. Normally my wife would drag me to these events almost against my will. “We’re heads of state. We must act like it!” She’d say. In her absence, I find myself strangely drawn to these events, as if she’s calling at me to keep up the work, to stay the course. I have been trying to do just that. Bianca and Amroth have been helping me to do so; negotiating treaties and expanding our trade agreements. Natasha has been busy detailing our records keeping and ensuring all documentation is properly filed. Its amazing to me how much my family has come together during this time of crisis.
So I guess I’ll go, put on a haphazard smile, and mingle with the newly elected governors of the state. As my darling Pandora would say, “The show must go on!”.
Governors Inaugural Ball, Sept 30th @ 8 PM EST
DATE: Monday Sept. 30th
TIME: 8 PM EST
PLACE: Lord Blackthorn’s Castle in Britain
With the permissions of our Emissaries, we will be holding the first ever Governor’s Inaugural Ball at Lord Blackthorn’s Castle for all the elected governors of the 4th quarter term of 2013. Join us in this special “Black Tie” celebration at the castle, beginning at 8 PM by the eastern skies.
All our governors are encouraged to participate and prepare a speech, if they so like. They will be granted the podium for their speech and thank you’s for 10 minutes each.
I realize we have not gotten our meeting with the King (he’s really busy), but we can still celebrate our victories with each other and our constituents and benefactors.
We hope to see you all there and bring your best designer clothes for the “Red Carpet Pictures”.
Sincerely,
Ariana Erikkson, Gov. of Minoc
Miner’s Competition, Fund Raising in Minoc
In my talks with the newly elected Governor of Minoc, Miss Ariana Erikkson, we’ve been detailing what we could do to raise funds for the city. She feels since the town is predominantly a miner’s town, that we should focus on promoting that fact. I agree.
So she’s come up with the idea of holding a Miner’s Competition. I have to admit I was intrigued.
An Upcoming Fundraiser
Among the many letters I have to reply to as Governor of this city, the one I was looking forward to was sent by our old Captain Kalmar Erikkson. I set to the work as soon as I could to ensure its delivery by the break of dawn. *pulls out a fresh, new fine quality parchment*
Lease Treaties with Jhelom Secured
Our lease treaties need to be continuing; business doesn’t stop because you suffer. I know my wife would want me to continue to run our territory on Earth and Sosaria, but it is increasingly hard when my mind wanders to thoughts of my little Saralyn. I am heartbroken, which is never a good thing for us vampires. We feel more than any other race or afflicted creature because we are so dependent on our connection to this age and its societies. Our very life depends on it. The fact that I cannot bury my child proper is taking a toll on me.
A Letter of Appreciation to the NAC…
An important letter commending the NAC for their cooperative efforts is en route to the town of Aegis via messenger. Captain Kalmar Eriksson has agreed to assist with the deliverance of this letter.
