An Unwanted Interruption

Ix-Tab1The night was beautifully filled with bright stars,  not a cloud in sight.  Even the heavens must of known the Queen would travel to Umbra for this great gathering.  Our friend Jonas Callahan had dutifully written his speech and with the assistance of Marius had finished it.  He didn’t want it to be too obvious that he was now one of our kind, so Marius helped him adjust his words.

I had spoken myself the eve’ before with Capt. Erikkson in regards to any additional security that may be needed, as our coven is closely tied to Umbra and service as its protectorate.  He assured me no additional presence would be needed, so most of our coven opted to forgo the event entirely, leaving only myself and a few other Kindred in attendance. Marius was actually excited to have such an even within the walls of Umbra.  Of course, we all know how cultured he is and this was just the opportunity he had wanted to dust off his favorite tuxedo and of course have me on his arm.  To escort me to a ball or gala was his favorite mortal pass time.

Umbra Hosts a Black Tie Gala to Benefit Rebuild Efforts

We have been cordially invited to attend the Black Tie Gala of Umbra this year being held at the Necromantic Ampitheatre on Saturday August 14th at 8 o’clock in the evening.  The Gala is being held to raise funds for the rebuilding efforts that are going on in the city, and specially to help reinforce the portals that hold the evils of Bedlam at bay. Captain Kalmar Erikkson will be speaking alongside our dear friend Jonas Callahan, who heads the Trade and Commerce Commission for Umbra which was recently reestablished.

Capt. Erikkson has requested our presence, as well as the presence of the Guard, in an effort to increase security and safety of the citizens that will come from all over the lands of Sosaria.  It is rumoured that the Queen herself might come; which of course will be a gracious gesture seeing as how Umbra is mostly inhabited by pale skins.  So come on and enjoy!

(We urge all our members to be in full ceremonial colors (black/shadow, dark red, and luna white) and in character.)

Umbra Hosts A Merchant’s Fair

It was just barely the clock’s strike when our lady arose. She had summoned the elders to the Dark Tower for an important meeting and the event coordinator, Thomas Bladswell — a human, was at her side already spewing off about problems that did not much concern Pandora.  As she walked, he followed… I followed.  The meeting hall was soon filled with the Centurians and Ancients of the coven;  those that could well sustain the light of day.  I quickly took my chair at the desk made for the scribes, I listened and I wrote.

“M’lady,  we have acquired word from the merchants that two previously confirmed are unable to make the date.”  The fair Roslyn stated.

Lady Roslyn Bosworth had once been a lady in waiting to great Queen Elizabeth the I. She came of royal blood and her poise and composure always showed her high society.  She had been unfortunate one evening as she encountered a rogue that turned her into a vampire and left her almost immediately; disshelved, confused, and with an extreme thirst she did not understand.  Much like the famed Lestat,  she had to learn what she was on her own. Having met Pandora and Marius, it was he that urged Pandora to take up her care.  Marius was very fond of Roslyn, but she barely knew him as anything more than a mentor that taught her the new ways of immortality that we all share.  Through the many centuries Roslyn developed a more unique closeness to Pandora. As one of the oldest living female vampires, Pandora was a role model to many.

First Annual Great Street Fair of Umbra

The Children of Darkness will be sponsoring the first annual “Great Fair of Umbra” on June 19th @ 2 PM eastern. ALL are welcomed to join this peaceful event and enjoy — free food, free booze, fun games, and a mini-raid of Bedlam. If you or your guildmates run vendor houses, please see me about getting a “booth” at the fair for you to display runes to your shop and talk to folks about your shop to help increase traffic and assist the economy of Sosaria.
