{"id":5435,"date":"2015-07-03T12:34:57","date_gmt":"2015-07-03T16:34:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.childrenofdarkness.com\/?page_id=5435"},"modified":"2015-07-03T12:34:57","modified_gmt":"2015-07-03T16:34:57","slug":"laws-of-progeny","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/tlp-guild.com\/uo\/lore\/laws-of-the-lore\/laws-of-progeny\/","title":{"rendered":"Laws of Progeny"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Laws of Progeny\u00a0refer to the creation\u00a0of any vampire to serve under the ruling house. \u00a0Registered members of a house have the right to sire at will as long as permission is granted to doing so.\u00a0\u00a0There are eight\u00a0parts to the Laws of Progeny:\u00a0Definition, Creation &amp; Destruction, Blood Bonds, Bond Calls, Blood Desire, Release, Protegos, and Sireal Death.<\/p>\n<h2>LAWS OF\u00a0PROGENY<\/h2>\n<h3><a name=\"definition\"><\/a>1 ~~~\u00a0Definition<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>This law covers only the creation of vampires under a registered House.<\/li>\n<li>This law extends to sub-houses that are part of a registered House.<\/li>\n<li>This law is in effect for all Houses that retain a council seat in the Order of the Talamasca.<\/li>\n<li>All Earthen covens are bound by these laws.<\/li>\n<li>Earthen covens are still bound by these laws even if they\u00a0travel to other worlds.<\/li>\n<li>Sosarian covens are not bound by these laws, but they can be subject to persecution if they travel to Earth.<\/li>\n<li>If a Sosarian coven registers as a sub-house under a main house, it adopts all its rules.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a name=\"creation\"><\/a>2 ~~~\u00a0Creation and Destruction<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A mortal created as a vampire becomes the property of its creator.<\/li>\n<li>The sire is responsible for all the progeny&#8217;s education and acclimation to the life.<\/li>\n<li>The sire is responsible for all the progeny&#8217;s actions and submits to equal consequences to such by the Order.<\/li>\n<li>No mortal under the age of 18\u00a0is allowed to be created. \u00a0A progeny\u00a0must be able to be self-sustaining.<\/li>\n<li>Permission of the dominant sire of the bloodline must be acquired by all subservients\u00a0in order to sire.<\/li>\n<li>If permission is not acquired, the dominant sire has the Right of Destruction.<\/li>\n<li>A sire not only has the right to destroy their progeny, but also a duty to do so if they become unstable and disloyal to the House.<\/li>\n<li>Only the sire can destroy its progeny.<\/li>\n<li>If the sire is not living, or incarcerated, the grandsire may evoke the sireal Right of Destruction.<\/li>\n<li>Sire-siblings are forbidden from destroying one another except with the expressed permission of their sires or grandsires.<\/li>\n<li>In the absence of a grandsire, the House Regent takes on the Right of Destruction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a name=\"blood-bonds\"><\/a>3\u00a0~~~\u00a0Blood Bonds<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>There is biochemistry that occurs at creation and lasts throughout the duration of your unlife, called the Blood Bond.<\/li>\n<li>This Blood Bond\u00a0can diminish with time and often can be severed completely in certain circumstances.<\/li>\n<li>Every progeny created is immediately bound to their sire in this way.<\/li>\n<li>Progeny will feel what their sires feel, and vice versa, and be acutely aware of their heightened states of emotions.<\/li>\n<li>Blood Bonds alert the sire of the progeny&#8217;s state of being &#8212; if they are hurt, scared, in danger, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Blood Bonds allow for the telepathic communication between sire and progeny that spans great distances.\n<ul>\n<li>It cannot however transcend between worlds, usually.<\/li>\n<li>Older\u00a0vampires often have a far greater reach with their Blood Bonds than younger ones.<\/li>\n<li>An elder vampire\u00a0for example would be able to use the Blood Bond in Trammel for example when their progeny is in Malas.<\/li>\n<li>An ancient vampire (those over 5,000 years old) for example would be able to use the Blood Bond on Earth when their progeny is in their immediate solar system, say Saturn.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a name=\"bond-calls\"><\/a>4 ~~~\u00a0Bond Calls<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A sire&#8217;s ability to call upon their aid of their progeny is called the Bond Call.<\/li>\n<li>A Bond Call can only be used by the sire to those that are bound to him\/her.\n<ul>\n<li>It cannot however transcend between worlds, usually.<\/li>\n<li>Older\u00a0vampires often have a far greater reach with their Bond Calls\u00a0than younger ones.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Bond Calls fall on deaf ears if there is no progeny available in the immediate distance covered by the sire&#8217;s age.<\/li>\n<li>Progeny would have no other recourse than to answer that Bond Call, immediately.\n<ul>\n<li>They often cannot focus on anything else but getting to their sires.<\/li>\n<li>They will stop whatever they are doing to answer the Bond Call.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>A Bond Call is almost impossible to ignore, if its within distance. Resisting it would be very very difficult, but not impossible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a name=\"blood-desire\"><\/a>5 ~~~\u00a0Blood Desire<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Vampires are overtly sexual creatures.\n<ul>\n<li>Sex is a method of strengthening one&#8217;s connection to another.<\/li>\n<li>Whereas, for mortals sex is a means to procreate&#8230; for vampires sex is a means of security.<\/li>\n<li>Vampires are bi-sexual, although their retain the choice to not give into those tendencies.<\/li>\n<li>Ancient vampires have been known to become a-sexual. Having little need for sex because they are secure within themselves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Vampires that are bound to each other often feel the need for sex with each other that defies attraction or even familial bonds; this is called the Blood Desire.<\/li>\n<li>Progeny when first created would have a very strong Blood Desire to their sires.<\/li>\n<li>The Blood Desire typically lasts anywhere from ~20 to ~100 years.<\/li>\n<li>The Blood Desire is stronger between bound sires and progeny.<\/li>\n<li>The Blood Desire can be resisted by both sire and progeny through sheer will.<\/li>\n<li>The Blood Desire often completely\u00a0disappears with a releasement or after a century or so.<\/li>\n<li>The Blood Desire is necessary to establish a deeper connection between sire and progeny.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a name=\"release\"><\/a>6 ~~~\u00a0Release<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A sire has the right to release a progeny from the Blood Bond, which also severs the Bond Call and Blood Desire.<\/li>\n<li>A releasement does not change the biochemistry that occurs between sire and progeny, it is a conscious decision that the sire makes not to submit to it.<\/li>\n<li>A sire that does not submit to the Blood Bonds, Bond Calls, or Blood Desires diminishes the time the progeny would feel a need for such mechanisms.\n<ul>\n<li>The progeny would feel very lost without being prepared for the release.<\/li>\n<li>Part of the sire&#8217;s responsibility is to educate the progeny enough to prepare them to be self-sustaining.<\/li>\n<li>Consensual releasement makes it very easy\u00a0to get over the biochemical effects.<\/li>\n<li>Non-consensual releasement can send the progeny into a deep depression, often committing suicide or going rogue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a name=\"protegos\"><\/a>7 ~~~\u00a0Protegos<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>A progeny that has been released or whose sire has met their demise may rebond to another elder vampire that is not their maker, that vampire then becomes a Protego, which means &#8220;protector&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>The Blood Bonds, Bond Calls, and Blood Desires all would exist between protego and progeny much in the same way that it would with the original creating sire.<\/li>\n<li>The Right of Creation and the Right of Destruction however, still falls to the original sire, or in their death, to the grandsire.<\/li>\n<li>A vampire can become a protego without the blood exchange through marriage. \u00a0If they marry a sire, they become &#8220;secondary sires&#8221;
