Guild Progress Updates – October 2024

Team, I’ve talked it over with our raid leaders, and here are the updates we’ve agreed on for our raiding teams.

CURRENT RAID PROGRESS
We have done a lot of good things together for a guild that is casual. We have cleared Normal Nerub-ar Palace, 8/8, and have started the journey into Heroic Nerub-ar Palace, killing 4/8 bosses in our first week in there. But we have 4 very difficult bosses to down in this instance and we’re not cutting it with our DPS and HPS, save for some that stand out above the rest. As such, we’re going to have to tighten up the requirements needed to join the HEROIC Raiding Team: Prophets. Some folks may be benched if they are not working on getting better with every raid.

We Return for The World Within

So, we have been playing WoW again. Because it’s WoW and we’re all in our feelings about it. I mean most of TLP is made up of former WoW players, most of them from old versions of TLP-WoW, which was made up of a bunch of former UO and DAoC TLP’ers too. For me, though… my late husband Luke (aka Beelzebubba) and I started this guild together and after he was killed in a auto accident, this guild was HOME to me — a piece of him I could always have with me. It just runs that deep for me.

But what hasn’t run that deep is the lack of enjoyment every expansion since the release of Battle for Azeroth has brought our TLP’ers. With every new adventure, the luster of WoW got dimmer and dimmer. Most of us skipped Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria, but made a big return with Legion — which was rather good to be fair, and saw them usher in BFA. But by the end of BFA, not even the promise of Shadowlands — which featured one of my most beloved characters, Sylvannas Windrunner, go absolutely bat shit CRAZY was enough for all of us to stay. So, another break ensued.

My now husband, Jake (Cips), and I — who I met within TLP-WoW btw — played Dragonflight together, all but the raiding and Mythic content. And while I am more of a “story nerd” than he is (by far actually lol) we did both enjoy it, for a while. We quit after Season 1. The story of the dragonflights was compelling but the content was again lack luster. And with that we said we wouldn’t put any effort into rebuilding TLP with Dragonflight.

Then came the announcement of the Worldsoul Saga — and with it the return of Chris Metzen, who we absolutely love. This was something Jake and I definitely wanted to play. But we knew we couldn’t mount on a remake of TLP if we didn’t enjoy the content ourselves. So……. we decided to play Season 1 without much thought to pulling TLP back together just to see if this is worth that effort. Because its a big effort. And today I can say, its worth the effort.

We’re going to be adding to TLP-WoW new members, therefore adding new friends to the big conglomerate that is TLP the community of gamers. And we’re going to take all of Season 1 to do it. By Season 2’s release, my goal will be to have established Mythic teams, PvP Squads, and at minimum 1 moderate raiding team. Yeah, no longer we will be pushing for server firsts or anything like that, but we will be happy to be among the top 10 guilds on just Bleeding Hollow. Hell… I even considered returning back to OUR HOME of Mannoroth, but most of us here are in some way or another and even more of us are scattered around in other places.

I don’t expect all of those settled folks to return, but I do think some of you might love to just hang out with us. And having said that, I know I’ll see of you drop into our TLP-WoW Discord server and chat it up with us, like we have done for the better part of over 27 years, dating back to Ultima Online.

See ya guys in the game!
<3 Dani

Raid Teams, Yes Plural… Teams

wow-legion-logoFor Legion, we have decided to not only continue onward and push through content with our main weekday raid team, Team Olympians… we are also going to be creating a new raid team that raids on weekends for those of us that either a) have busy work weeks or b) have alts they want to level up.  Dubbed Team Demi Gods, this raid team will run Saturdays and Sundays from 9 PM to 12 AM EST.

Rounding out our new raid team’s leadership will be Charsbarkley as Raiding Officer and Klavin as Raid Leader.  The two of them will work closely together to lead us through successful content progression. Charsbarkley will work on the roster composition, recording attendance, and working with recruitment officers to fill necessary raiding spots. Klavin will focus entirely on strategic boss progression and getting our raiders through content.  If any folks would like to join our new raid team on the weekends, please see Charsbarkley or Klavin to get on the roster’s list of try outs.

For Team Olympians, we are shifting focus from moderate raiding to semi-hardcore raiding. In doing so, there are some spots that have become or will through the course of selection become free for other raiders to apply to as some of our raiders would move to be bench players rather than roster players due to personal time constraints.  This includes myself.  The requirements to join either raid group have gone up to be 840 ilvl and an unlocked 3rd artifact relic slot. This does require members to continuously be working on their main raiding characters, even on off days.  For many of us, that’s an impossibility.  But this will allow us to push for top ranks on our server.  You’ll want to message Vitalizer or Tankymcbones to compete for a spot.

A roster spreadsheet can be found here for all to review.

Full Clear Wednesday!

We’d like to congratulate our Team Olympian raiders for a great job in clearing ALL of Heroic HFC in 2.75 hours — from start to finish.  They earned themselves a day off on Thursday night and it was also our last night of raiding in WoD. Onward and upwards to Legion Raiding!  We will NOT be raiding until September 30th as we’re giving our members a month to level and be Raid Ready!  Here is a picture of all of us. 😉  Go #TeamTLP!
