Loot Distribution Rules

A Data-Driven Approach
Now, we’ve moved on to a more data-driven model of distribution of loot. With the addition of wowaudit.com into RC Loot Council, we can now really hone in on the upgrades that would be best for every member of our Heroic and Mythic raid teams; our Normal raid team still holds open rolls without reserves.

Loot upgrades function in mere fractions of a percent for upgradability, so a BIG upgrade would be a 1.5% upgrade where a minor upgrade would be anything less than .5% (we weren’t kidding with the fractional margins). Wowaudit allows for that to entirely visible to all members, and we talk about who it would be best for and why openly and transparently. The RC Loot Council window frame is visible to everyone that has that add on installed (and for Heroic and Mythic teams it is a REQUIRED addon).

LOOT DISTRIBUTION RULES

ALL MEMBERS MUST HAVE RC LOOT COUNCIL with the WoWAUDIT PLUGIN INSTALLED & LOADED.

Our current loot council process is as follows for all “GUILD ONLY” raids:

  • The raid leader is set to Master Looter. The addon will automatically pass on all dropped loot, including BOEs, for all guild members.
  • A “Loot Master” initiates the SESSION VIEWER, a timer of 2 minutes is set.
    • Guild members would then select one of the following options:
      • Main Spec Need — this is a big upgrade for your primary raiding spec.
      • Offspec Need — this is a big upgrade for your secondary spec.
      • Minor/Side Grade Need — this would be a small upgrade for your primary raiding spec.
      • Transmog Greed — this is not useful to either your primary or offspec, but if no one else needs it you would use it as a transmog.
      • Pass — this is not useful to you in any way listed above.
        • NOTE: For items for which the member cannot roll on, the system auto-passes.
  • Guild members can open the SESSION FRAME (/rc open) to see all items that dropped and were rolled for. The Wishlist will show which player gets the most upgrade percentage (based on gained DPS/HPS).
  • Players can use the “FILTER” to filter out any auto-pass or pass items.
  • All players can see where the loot goes and will know how big an upgrade it is for that person.
  • All BOE’s are sold to stock our guild bank. If a member wants a BOE, they can purchase it at 50% of the sale price in the AH.

REMEMBER: Items last 4 hours for tradability and our raids last 3 hours, so there is plenty of time to distribute items. So be patient and kind to your raid leaders.

Members can dispute a loot decision to the Raid Manager or Raid Leader, but since everyone can see why a piece went to this person or that person… its hard to dispute that. Its fully open and transparent. So do not be “that” guy.

When the raid is open to PUGs, we adhere to OPEN LOOT ROLLS with the exception of rolling for guildies. We roll on ANY ITEM we can roll on and then internally distribute that item to our guildies.
