The Invitations Are Sent…

merida-armand-invitationsJust got our copy of the invitations that were sent out.  Elegant, beautifully scripted, in the colors my bride had wished for.  Everything seems perfect.  I am very excited to take Merida as my wife, she’s my heart’s desire and my love for her burns eternal.  I hope she doesn’t get too nervous… its only 500+ names on our guest list.  Everything is in motion, and the date approaches quickly.  I hope that Va’lis makes it and that they squash whatever has been vexing them and he understands that whatever Merida tells me in confidence as my wife, I keep to myself.  We keep no secrets from each other…  we’re truly in love.

The Show Must Go On

Guests start to arrive just before 8 o’clock.

I managed to get my black tux ready, fit me well since I am still in mourning. Normally my wife would drag me to these events almost against my will.  “We’re heads of state. We must act like it!” She’d say.  In her absence, I find myself strangely drawn to these events, as if she’s calling at me to keep up the work, to stay the course. I have been trying to do just that.  Bianca and Amroth have been helping me to do so; negotiating treaties and expanding our trade agreements. Natasha has been busy detailing our records keeping and ensuring all documentation is properly filed. Its amazing to me how much my family has come together during this time of crisis.

So I guess I’ll go, put on a haphazard smile, and mingle with the newly elected governors of the state. As my darling Pandora would say,  “The show must go on!”.
