Retreating Our Aid

My beloved,

How I wish I could be there with you, I miss you terribly. I still urge you to reconsider leaving me and Bianca behind, but I understand why it was done.

A situation has arisen whilst you deal with the Draconians back in our world that I must tell you about.  I am effectively relinquishing our leases in South Jhelom as we will not be subjected to the extortion that the newly elected “governor” wishes to put us through.
I do not think he understands that we kept these leases up as a courtesy to the city itself, but that once the King re-established the Royal Britannian Guard as an official, sanctioned organization they could petition to the King for use of any area they are need of.  Afterall, the King wouldn’t say no to the RBG chapters that utilize the area for the safety of merchants through the southern waters, which are wrought with pirates.  I mean Red Skull Bay being so close to the area alone is a clear message of how much those waters need protection.

I spoke to Captain Erikkson and let him know of the situation.  He didn’t seem too pleased with it all, but I told him we’d handle it directly with the King. When I approached the King he seemed hesitant to make a decision, not like Queen Dawn who was rather quick with her responses.  He did tell me that he wanted to see what this new Governor would say and encouraged me to speak to him.  I have yet to do so, but frankly it would be easier to just relinquish the leases back to the Crown. The signatures on the agreements were with the Crown to begin with, not him or Jhelom.  Captain Erikkson agreed.

I hope you write back soon my love, we’re all parched for some news of what is happening.  Send our family my love,

P.
