Pandora got up slowly from the floor where she had slid to a halt. She moved to where Va’lis had been thrown across the room, hitting the wall and sliding down. Zeeke hadn’t even flinched when Pandora grabbed her by the throat lifting her off her feet; Pandora had forgotten one of the most important rules — don’t piss off vampires that are older than you. She extended a hand to Va’lis and pulled him up to his feet. The rage in her, burning. She opened a gate home, “Come.”

Once they landed in Vamp’s Lair, they went inside and she plopped onto the expensive fancy couch inside. Va’lis sat in the loveseat near her. She put her foot up on the coffee table and then suddenly kicked the flower vase off of the table, crashing to the floor in an explosive shattering motion. She cursed. “We have to talk about your anger issues,” he said.

Carrie Parker had finally gotten her prince. She was now a married woman, a vampire yes, but also Mrs. Richard Perry. It is what she had always wanted. She had thought the events of that fateful night so long ago when Va’lis was forced to turn her had been the end of her life. In one way it had been. But in truth, nothing about her had really changed. Fundamentally, she was still Carrie.
Carrie was smart, super smart. Graduating from Moonglow High with honors and then studying in Wind, where she met Va’lis. He had been her mentor and she had always looked up to him. She was a devoted daughter and sister and she always tried to do the right thing. She had wanted to become a teacher and one day be a professor like Va’lis. She had learned so much from him and she wanted to pay it forward.

So far being a mortal had slowed down somethings for a while, but they had not altogether put a stop to her life. She was learning to cope with everything, and doing so really well. She did not need to take mortal life, thanks to her sire-mother Cherry, so that made things very easy for her. She had learned to control the thirst, and was able to now have Rich live with her. She would soon be visiting her mother and father. And now she had with Va’lis’ permission gone to Britain to get married!

Her life was just starting to return to normal. Now, she was off to honeymoon in beautiful Zento. But happiness was cut short when Carrie found herself overpowered by a man and struck on the head.

A Knock on the Door

brelynnWiping away a tear, the girl climbed upon her horse and said the magical words meant to transport her from one location to another. She really didn’t care which rune… she just had to get away. As luck would have it, she found herself looking eye to eye with one of the largest dragons she had ever laid eyes on and a smile crossed her face.

“Pandryl!!” she exclaimed as she threw her arms around his neck, lifting herself off of her trusty nightmare. Pandryl, her protector and best friend was always there when she was in need. She could not think of a time he had let her down since her Uncle Mystic had bestowed upon her one of his favorite beasts. And this time, true to fashion, he would not let her down either. Sensing her deep sadness, the dragon tried his best to comfort the girl and it was not long before she drifted off into a slumber under his close eye while murmuring the words “time” under her breath.

She dreamt of happier times, of growing up under the watchful eye of so many aunts and uncles and one could not forget her adoring parents. Her sister and she could do no wrong, and even when it seemed they were in trouble, they knew just how to get out of it. She remembered dancing in the rain for hours on end and the enormous joy she received from taming her first animal. She also remembered the way his eyes locked with hers the moment she gave herself to him fully.

In many cultures, for example in India, it is regarded as a holy, magical gemstone. Its secrets are locked beneath a pearly veil, and with them, our own hidden truths. Only within its reflected light can we begin to understand what it has to teach us. Moonstone is foremost a talisman of the inward journey, taking one deep into the self to retrieve what is missing, the parts of the soul left behind or forgotten, then brought to light. What that is exactly is the purest form of ourselves; in essence our unspoiled selves.  Moonstone takes one deep into the self. Often it reveals the missing piece or pieces of the puzzle of one’s life, parts of the soul that have been left behind or forgotten.
